Thomas Tuchel has chosen to retain the same England squad that secured victory against their previous opponents and delivered an impressive performance in Belgrade last month, finding no place for the Real Madrid star and Phil Foden in his selection for the upcoming exhibition match against the Welsh side and the qualifying match in Latvia.

Although Phil Foden making a strong case for a return to the squad after rediscovering his form at Manchester City, and Bellingham having returned for his Spanish club following shoulder surgery, the head coach has opted not to including two of the country's biggest offensive stars. The young midfielder has started just a single time for his club since his comeback.

Tuchel has made room for the Arsenal winger, who is fully recovered and has been reinstated in place of his injured Arsenal teammate the sidelined player. Jack Grealish has not been handed a recall.

Tuchel highlighted the energy in last month's squad and appears determined to maintaining the vibe. Tino Livramento, who featured at the defensive flank in the 5-0 win in Serbia, has been ruled out due to a knock. Tuchel has opted against selecting a like-for-like substitute for the Magpies star but has included John Stones, who had to pull out last month. Tuchel has discussed the Manchester City defender's significance for the national team and has floated the idea of using him in midfield.

There is no place for the midfielder, who was selected last month but pulled out due to injury and was substituted by the Milan player.

Tuchel said: “It was only three weeks since the last camp and the last win, the last performance, so the question was why not bring the same group in because they established a benchmark. The focus now is on creating habits out of it. We have unfortunately two injuries at the moment with Livramento and Madueke and we bring of course Bukayo Saka in to replace Noni. Jarell Quansah was a last-minute addition previously; he will stay in camp.”
