Manchester Synagogue Incident: One Victim Was Likely Fired Upon by Officers
In a devastating development, a individuals lost at the Manchester synagogue attack appears to have been fatally wounded by armed police officers.
Official Statement Confirms Firearm Injury
The senior officer of Greater Manchester Police announced that a forensic expert has provisionally determined the victim died of a gunshot wound.
“We sought guidance overnight from forensic specialists before full postmortem examinations set to occur this afternoon. The expert has advised that preliminary findings show one of the deceased victims likely sustained a wound consistent with a gunshot injury.”
Attacker Information
The assailant, a 35-year-old individual, was not carrying a firearm, and all discharged rounds were by the police officers at the scene.
It is believed the deceased was part of the group positioned at the entrance seeking to prevent the assailant from gaining entry.

“Thus, it appears pending further forensic examination, this injury was unfortunately incurred as a unintended and heartbreaking result of the necessary rapid response taken by our personnel to halt this brutal assault.”
Victims Identified
The two victims who lost their lives at Heaton Park synagogue located in Manchester earlier this week had been named as Adrian Daulby, aged 53 and 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz.
The men lost their lives when a vehicle was employed to ram into the property of the local Jewish place of worship, then stabbed worshippers in a brief violent spree that ended only when armed officers fired upon him, killing him near the synagogue entrance.
Further Harm
Three more people were seriously injured in the violent act on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish year.
The chief constable added, “Medical professionals have informed us that one of the three victims currently receiving treatment sustained a firearm injury, which is mercifully not life threatening. Officials think both victims were close together behind the synagogue door, as worshippers acted bravely to prevent the attacker from getting inside.”

Attacker Profile
Police named the perpetrator as Shamie, thirty-five, a UK national of Syrian descent.
Greater Manchester police said that three other people – two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s – had been arrested “on suspicion of involvement in planning of acts of terrorism”.
